Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 20th Nov 2006Highlights from interviews given by Craig Levein, Scott Wilson and Stephen Kenny after the game against Dundee Utd at EEP.
Craig Levein
Craig believes his team played better than usual and that only the last minute goal saved the game because after the equaliser he thinks they still looked good. He also thought that with the amount of chances they missed they would have won the game with better finishing. When Dunfermline changed their system Craig was confident of being able to deal with it but it was from a wide position that the winning goal was created. Credit goes to his players who he thought were full of running and energy and were just unlucky, but did feel there was a strong shout for a penalty.
Stephen Kenny
Stephens first impressions of his new club are mixed, he feels they are a little unbalanced. He commented on the injury crisis and vowed to look closely at the recovery process and try to prevent more. He points out for special mention Greg Shields and Scott Wilson whom he thought kept the whole team in the game with outstanding blocks. He says that the second goal gives him confidence for the future and the potential at the club. On the league position Stephen is very optimistic as we are only a third through the season and he is glad to be part of a club with such a good history in order to help them out of relegation. He talks of his roller coaster week with Derry City loosing out narrowly to Shelbourne in the league on goal difference. When asked about what he thinks his strengths to be he was modest but explained that he tries to create an atmosphere in which all players try to be better than each other and this inspires a winning mentality.
