Throughout his managerial career this is the firt time that Pars boss Stephen Kenny has brought his assistant to another club. He brings 35 year-old former Ipswich and Derry City goalkeeper Declan Devine to our shores to assist him and Craig Robertson turn the fortunes of the first team squad.
Devine broke the news to the Derry City chairman Hugh McDaid yesterday morning and admits that it was a "massive wrench" to leave Derry but added:
"But for myself, for the first time personally, I feel as though I need to move on.
"The only reason I`m doing it is for selfish reasons. I need to test myself."
