Walsall Fans web site issue apology
Date: Sunday, 15th Jul 2007Footymad Walsall fans web site has made an embarrassing mistake regarding Kevin Harper. The original story on teamtalk did say that the `Kevin Harper` was from Majorca,
Many people added 2 plus 2 and got 7, stating that the Kevin Harper who had signed for Dunfermline, and who was on the trip to La Manga last week, had turned up on trial at Luton Town and even scoring a goal.
Despite pointing this out to the aforementioned web site at noon today, it took them until 5pm to realise their mistake.
I hope they personally apologise for the extreme embarrassment that this puts Kevin in.
One good thing to come of it was that Dunfermline fans were disappointed with the story as they were expecting to see and were excited about Kevin Harper in a Pars shirt - thankfully that is still true !
The article from said web site:
On Sunday Walsall MAD released an article about Kevin Harper turning out for Luton Town as a trialist in a pre-season friendly against Hitchen Town. This has since been been highlighted as inaccurate and has been withdrawn.
The information for the article was taken from Teamtalk.comm who had a picture of our former player and `revealed` how he was on trial with the League One club. However, Kevin Harper has signed a two-year deal at Dumfermline since leaving Bescot as a League One champion.
This mistake is rather embarrassing and was the front page news was written in good faith, believing the information of a large football news website to be correct. As a Walsall FC news website, Walsall MAD always endeavors to ensure news stories are accurate and not miss-representing. We try and avoid rumor and report facts, making us a must visit website for Walsall FC news and chat.
