Highlights from interviews given by Stephen Kenny, Jim McIntyre and Souleymane Bamba after the game against Partick Thistle at EEP.

Stephen Kenny
Kenny liked to see his players fighting hard for each other but admitted that his side were often poor in the final third of the park. He gives considerable praise to Mark Burchill, who was ill all week, but managed to come back and score a brilliant goal, which proved to be the winner. Due to the number of injuries that the side has been picking up Steven had to rush players back in order to fill positions, some players were unaware they would be featuring at all until match day. Under no illusion about the performance, Kenny still insists that for his side to get the win they needed after a tough mid-week game was no mean feat, regardless of how it came. On Ian McCall’s remarks about the result being a travesty, the manager is quick to snub any such statements explaining that neither side really had many clear-cut chances even when Partick had a lot of late possession.

Jim McIntyre
Jim is very happy to be back playing football after being out with a calf muscle tear since the beginning of pre-season. He has been watching from the sidelines and has wanted to be out on the park getting stuck in, helping his teammates out, however he is realistic about getting back to full fitness and sharpness. With the Challenge Cup semi-final coming up, Jim wants to be part of the team and get some football under his belt but obviously, as he explains, that is up to the manager. He too pays tribute to Burchill’s goal and being able to score it after being laid up all week with the flu.

Souleymane Bamba
Sol is very happy to get another man of the match award but explains that he never drinks so he has a good collection of champagne building up. He is also very pleased for Burchill who works very hard in training and a goal like that will build up his confidence even further...
