Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Tuesday, 25th Dec 2007

Highlights from interviews given by Nicky Phinn, Jim McIntyre, Gordon Chisholm and Paul Gallacher after the game against Queen of the South at EEP.

Nicky Phinn
Nicky is elated to have scored his first senior goal for Dunfermline and didnt think it would come as everyone expected Stephen Glass to shoot before playing a crafty inside pass. He would love to be included in the first team more often this season but is happy to let the manager decide whether he gets into the line-up. The three points in the most important thing to the team as is has been a very long time in coming and with that the lads are all backing Jim McIntyre to take the reigns on a full-time basis.

Jim McIntyre
Jim feels that his side played well and it was a comfortable win against the Doonhamers. He points out a Paul Gallacher save as an important moment in the match as it was the only real clear cut chance from the away side. Jim explains that he has expressed an interest in the managers job at Dunfermline but has no idea whether he is being seriously considered by the chairman. The front man is thoroughly enjoying his time as care taker and can see that the players are taking on board what he is trying to instill during his spell in charge.

Gordon Chisholm
Gordon admits that he believed his side were very poor in the first half and giving the goal away really didnt help the team at all. The second half was brighter according to Chisholm with a couple of small chances that he thought would bring them an equaliser. However, it transpired that Dunfermline delivered the killer goal and there was no way back, regardless, Gordon is happy with his players commitment if not the defending.

Paul Gallacher
Paul talks of his important saves in the match but is happy that the rest of the team put in a shift and won the match. He also talks of how happy the players are with the care taker manager, Jim McIntyre, and tells us that he has got the players fitter in a short space of time but also knows everyone will give 100% if a new man comes in. On Paul`s own contract at the club he explains that it could well come to an end on January 1st, when his loan deal was set to end, however the clubs are in negotiations and he hopes he can stay for longer, having been given first team football in Fife.
