Greenock Morton Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 28th Jan 2008Highlights from interviews given by Stephen Simmons and Jim McIntyre after the game against Greenock Morton at EEP.
Stephen Simmons
Stephen talks of his goal and the chance that followed it, he is pleased that he was able to put the ball away on his bad foot but disappointed at missing the second opportunity. He admits that the performance was quite nervy but the goal settled the team down and they were able to go on and get a second through Stephen Glass. Unsure about how big a change McIntyre has made to the team he explains that there is more of a team spirit at the club and that the players benefit from that.
Jim McIntyre
Jim is happy with the result and admit that his side have played better and lost but that its all about getting points on the board at this stage of the season. He pays tribute to on loan defender Danny Murphy who returns to Motherwell this week and wishes the player luck after giving his all for Dunfermline in his short spell at the club. The half time team talk was used to explain ways in which to hurt Morton with full backs getting forward in order to cause the opposition more problems and Jim believes that is what they did. On the transfer news the manager doesn’t think that anyone will be coming in but that a few players will have left by the end of the week.
