Greenock Morton Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 24th Nov 2008Highlights from interviews given by Davie Irons and Jim McIntyre after the game against Greenock Morton at EEP.
Davie Irons
Davie realises his team had to dig in after going a goal up but still believes his side had the better of the chances, especially in the second half. Morton have come onto a rich vein of form recently but the manager is still of the opinion that it was the first win that was most important following a dire run of games before hand. Irons` job has been made more difficult of late but not for any footballing reasons as a couple of his players have recently become fathers and needed time away from the team.
Jim McIntyre
McIntyre is frank about how the game went. He explains that six or seven of his players were not playing upto scratch and that no team can expect to win a football match when this is the case. It is frustrating that the side can`t seem to string together good results and tend to have alternating fortunes week after week. On Stephen Glass`s disallowed goal, Jim doesnt feel he can comment until he has seen it on tape but can`t complain about the result given the teams performance overall.
