Fife Headway to Net Cash for Kicks
Date: Tuesday, 3rd Mar 2009Fife Headway Group, the brain injury association, is set to benefit from the generosity of Dunfermline’s football fans in a unique Penalty Shootout Challenge devised by local personal injury claims specialists, Bonnar & Company Solicitors.
‘Back of the Net’ is Bonnar & Company’s football-themed community initiative which raises funds for the firm’s nominated charities.
A team from Bonnar & Company will go ‘head to head’ with a team from Dunfermline Building Society at half-time during the Dunfermline Athletic v Partick Thistle match at East End Park on Saturday 14th March.
Both teams pay an ‘entry fee’ of £100 direct to Headway which will have its collectors out in force at the ground before kick-off.
Andy Thorogood, Practice Development Manager at Bonnar & Company and the event organiser said that
‘we got involved with the charity because our work brings us into contact with many head and brain injury victims of all ages and we know the fantastic work that Fife Headway Group does.
We are extremely grateful to the directors and staff of Dunfermline Athletic for their enthusiastic support and we are absolutely delighted that Dunfermline Building Society will provide the opposition on the day.
Partick Thistle always bring a good crowd to East End Park and the Jags’ supporters are noted for their community spirit, so we are hoping for a ‘win-win-win’ with Headway, the Pars and Bonnar & Company coming out on top!
Barbara Linton, the charity’s Secretary, emphasised that
‘Fife Headway Group is staffed by volunteers and it depends on the continued support of the people of Fife in order to deliver practical advice and assistance to brain injured people and their families.
We would like to extend our warm thanks to Dunfermline Athletic, Dunfermline Building Society and Bonnar & Company.’
