St Johnstone Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 13th Apr 2009Highlights from interviews given by Derek McInnes and Jim McIntyre after the game against St Johnstone at East End Park.
Derek McInnes
Derek felt that the game was won following his sides spot kick which put them 3-1 in the lead but that Gary Irvine`s first half strike was good enough to win any game alone. He gives credit to Dunfermline who never gave up the chase after going down to ten men but he never thought his team was out of control. On the title race, the manager keeps his cards to his chest and doesnt speculate on whether they can win the league yet, although it looks highly unlikely that St.Johnstone will throw it away now.
Jim McIntyre
Another dissapointing home defeat for McIntyres men who failed to defend from a set piece which put them 1-0 down in the first half. He believes that the sending off was a very soft decision with minimal contact in the box and that it was a decision that changed the game. Although his players battled to try and get back in the match it made it very difficult to come away with any points at 3-1 down. Scott Muirhead is expected to be out for around 3 weeks with a thigh injury and it doesnt look like players will be returning for next week.
