Airdrie United Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 8th Mar 2010Highlights from interviews given by Jim McIntyre, Steven Bell and Kenny Black after the game against Airdrie United at East End Park.
Jim McIntyre
Jim is very happy to get the result in what was a very tough game played on a fairly poor surface. Despite the 2-0 score line the game could have gone either way in terms of chances with Airdrie having two shots saved off the line. On the penalty, the manager admits he didnt see the incident well but that both parties involved are claiming to have got a touch of the ball first. He is also pleased for Steven Bell for getting the second goal as the midfielder has been putting in some good performances of late.
Steven Bell
Steven realises that the result gave his team a massive three points in the league. Although far behind the league leaders he is adamant that no one has given up hope of challenging for the title. With all the postponments of matches the midfielder admits he has never had a season like this before but he would rather be playing twice a week and keep up momentum than extending the league. Extension of the league would cause Bell more problems as he is due to get married a week after the scheduled seasons end.
Kenny Black
Kenny rues his sides missed chances and believes that the penalty award was a soft one that changed the game. Sitting at the bottom of the league Black admits that all his team can do is to hang on and keep working away at picking up points. Looking forward to the Tuesday night game against Dunfermline, he believes that the fans deserve a battling performance in that match and throughout the rest of the season.
