Bullen Will Face United
Date: Wednesday, 23rd Aug 2000Lee Bullen who injured his hamstring in the pre-season friendly against Norwich City has been listed in the squad for Saturday's match against Dundee United.
Bullen is expected to use Thursday's Under 21 match at East End Park against Rangers as a warm up.
The Pars U21 team line up against Rangers at 7:30pm, and Bullen is expected to take the opportunity to 'road test' the strength of his damaged hamstring.
Saturday's team news:
Dundee United hope to obtain clearance to be able to play their new signing - Cameroon World Cup player Alphonse Tchami. The former Boca Juniors and Hertha Berlin striker Tchami, 29, appeared as a substitute in each of his country's group stage games in France 98. He was forced to sit it out United against St Johnstone on Saturday after United failed to get clearance in time to allow him to play.
Tchami spent the end of last season at United Arab Emirates club Al Wasl after three seasons with Hertha in the Bundesliga. He seems to be a bit of a wanderer, played for Unisport, Godense, BK, & with Maradona for a season at Boca Juniors. Has a good record at international level, 27 goals in 43 games since his debut in December 1988 but hasn't featured for the past couple of seasons on regular basis for anyone. Scored a hat trick against Toga in a World Cup qualifier. Will be interesting to see if he is the solution to United's problems should he debut at EEP.
Midfielder Craig Easton is an injury doubt after gashing his head in last Saturday's clash with St Johnstone. Manager Alex Smith also has several injuries to contend with: Jim Paterson doubtful because of a hamstring strain, while winger Neil Heaney is extremely doubtful with a back problem. Young striker Stephen McConalogue is bound to keep his place after hitting three past Alloa in the CIS Insurance Cup on Tuesday night. Former Alex Smith charge Stephen Wright has joined from Bradford City and impressed in his CIS cup debut.
