It's Brilliant

Junior Mendes says "It's Brilliant" At East End Park.

He talks of his confidence in the Dunfermline squad and about his relationship with previous boss, Tom Hendrie. Junior admits to be beginning to click with his fellow players.

"It is always a gamble when you move from club to club because you don't know what is going to happen. I took advice from my family but I also had a gut instinct. I do not want to speak to soon but it doesn't really surprise me what has happened so far at Dunfermline.

"I'm enjoying it here, that's why I came here and at the moment it's brilliant. I know things can change very quickly but looking around at the players in the squad it's not surprised me too much. Because of the quality of the players and those that the gaffer has brought in I think Dunfermline will have a good chance in the Premier League."

Referring to his decision to leave St Mirren and Tom Hendrie's reaction at the time

"It was a little sad the things that happened and the things Tom Hendrie said. I'll be glad to meet up with him again when we go to Love Street and when he comes to East End Park. I have spoken to him and everything is fine between me and Tom Hendrie. We had a good relationship at St Mirren and hopefully the next time I see him I'll be able to walk up to him, shake his hand and ask him how he is doing. And of course it would be nice to score a goal against him too.

Junior now feels happier with his striking partners -

"It was always going to be hard because I never had any pre-season games with the boys. My first game was against Aberdeen and I'm still learning how to play with Stevie, and with Fergie and the rest of the boys. After a while I think it will click. It's been clicking in training recently and hopefully we can take it on from there. I don't think we'll have a problem because there is really good quality at this club.

"I don't see why we can't stay in the top six, of the teams we have played so far we have done more than hold our own - they've found it really hard to break us down. Before the Rangers game nobody had scored against us apart from that own goal, we've taken a lot of heart out of that."
