Coach tips changes to All Whites
Date: Sunday, 30th Jun 2002All Whites coach Mick Waitt was disappointed with New Zealand's 1-0 loss to Scottish Premier league side Dunfermline Athletic in Wellington on Friday night, but was hopeful of a better result at North Harbour Stadium today
"After our displays in China, last night was a little bit disappointing,"
said Waitt. "We defended well, but we had problems in the last third of the
field going forward. The conditions weren't easy. It was very greasy on top,
but that's no excuse."
Waitt said there would be changes to the side for today's game. "We always said everyone in the squad would get game time and that'll be the case at North Harbour." The Dunfermline games, following on from the 2-2 and 5-0 win
against good Chinese opposition, will take the All Whites into the Oceania Nations Cup, beginning in Auckland on Friday.
