Player Ratings v Livingston
Author: Jason Barber Date: Saturday, 10th Aug 2002After the superb performance against Livingston today, here are player ratings for the match.
Ruitenbeek: Still looks a bit shaky at times. Needs to command the box a lot more. No chance with their consolation goal. 7/10
Bullen: Started as centre half, also played wide right. Played superbly in both positions, easy to forget the man is a striker! 9/10
Skerla: Late error apart, strolled through the game. Thankfully, he saved a mistake until the 4th minute of injury time. 8/10
Thomson: Looked the part throughout. Had his hands full at times, but played some great passes from defence. Took a couple of nasty knocks, hopefully will recover for next week. 8/10
Dair: Started in defence, moved to midfield later. Good display from Dan, looking like a first choice at the moment. 8/10
Kilgannon: Far more effective in second half and gave Livi a torrid time on the left wing. Replaced by McGroarty late on. 7/10
Hampshire: Looked the part today. Took up good positions on countless occasions, unlucky not to score. 7/10
Nicholson: Quiet but very effective performance in the middle of the park. Some great controlling midfield play throughout the game. 7/10
Dempsey: Still getting used to the Scottish game, but will no doubt prove to be a great asset. Subbed for Walker not long after being assaulted by Marvin Andrews. 7/10
Crawford: Superb performance today, unlucky not to score at least one or two more. Looked keener to strike at goal than last season. 9/10
Brewster: Outstanding from the first minute. Will be the key man for Dunfermline if success is to be achieved this season. Man of the match. 10/10
Subs used:
Walker: Did what he had to do to ensure lead was maintained. Came close to scoring with header. 7/10
McGroarty: Run out for Chris on left after replacing Kilgannon. Turned Livi players inside out during his brief spell on the park and caused danger. 7/10
Petrie: Late sub for Brewster after he was brutally challenged by Bollan.
