Hibernian v Dunfermline

Dunfermline Athletic striker Stevie Crawford heads for Easter Road with a double mission - to reek havoc with his former club and finally convince Bertie Vogts that he has what it takes at international level.

Crawford came on as a substitute at half-time for Scotland in the Faroe Islands and was the inspiration behind the two-goal fightback that possibly saved the German`s job as national boss.

But Scotland assistant Tommy Burns revealed later that Vogts still remains unconvinced by Crawford`s credentials on the international stage.

Along with fellow former Hibee and Raith Rovers striker Craig Brewster, Crawford will therefore arrive in Edinburgh with extra determination to down his previous club.


Ian Murray is in line for a call-up

He and Brewster have gelled superbly so far this season, but Dunfermline`s promising start to the season came to abrupt halt with a 6-0 thrashing by Rangers at East End Park.

Manager Jimmy Calderwood retreated to former home Holland to consider what went wrong.

Although he has a full squad from which to pick, the unpredictable Scottish coach might therefore be tempted to make changes on his return.

Hibs manager Bobby Williamson is set to keep faith with the same side that won at Motherwell last time out and clinched the Edinburgh`s side`s first points of the season.

Williamson is still without captain John O`Neil and promising young striker Garry O`Connor has not recovered from a hamstring injury.

Stand-in skipper Ian Murray has shrugged off the slight groin strain that denied him a place with the Scotland Under-21s last week.

He too has something to prove to Vogts, who has hinted that Murray is in his thoughts for an early promotion to the senior team.

Midfielder Frederic Arpinon is included in the Hibs squad, having missed two games through injury, but it looks like he will have to settle for a place on the bench.
