Calderwoods Tactics and Karnebeek
Author: Niall Shaw Date: Saturday, 21st Sep 2002Jimmy Calderwood has revealed he used Motherwell`s surprise victory over Celtic as inspiration for his own side`s winning run.
The Pars, who take on Terry Butcher`s boys at East End Park on Saturday, had not won away for eight months before they went to Hibernian the day after the Steelmen`s famous win.
But they cruised through that match to win 4-1 and followed up with a 2-1 win at Dundee United last week.
Calderwood said: "When they played Celtic they were magnificent. They had to ride their luck but they deserved it.
"I used them as an example to my players before the Hibs game. We hadn`t won an away game since January 12 and we think we are too good a team for that to happen.

DUNFERMLINE head coach Jimmy Calderwood believes his side wouldn`t have lost six goals to Rangers if defender Andre Karnebeek had been playing.
Calderwood told CourierSport yesterday that the Dutchman`s never-say-die attitude would have helped hold the shell-shocked defence together.
And the good news for the Pars boss is that Karnebeek could be fit to face Aberdeen at Pittodrie a week tomorrow.
The centre-half resumed training recently and has been making rapid progress, according to Calderwood.
