Noel Hunt at East End Park
Author: Brian Date: Thursday, 26th Dec 2002Jimmy Calderwood is close to agreeing terms with Shamrock Rovers Noel Hunt.
Noel was at the game and disappointed to see Dunfermline lose considering they had so much good play but no luck. He was at the game with Gary [Dempsey] who is a good friend of his.
What is the situation with a deal?
They are trying to sort out a deal at the moment, for the last few days, so it should be sorted out in the next day or two.
Do you think you`ll be heading for Dunfermline?
I`d say it`ll be Dunfermline, I like it here and all the boys are good and very friendly, they are a good laugh. Its a tremendous setup.
Do you think this would be a good step for you?
Yes, once I get a chance. I think I`ll get a chance and we`ll take it from there and see what happens.
Thanks for your time Noel and we wish you all the best.

NOEL HUNT – Forward – A prolific goalscorer during his schoolboy days at Johnville in Waterford. Noel should probably have been involved in the first team last season but Damien Richardson preferred to give him a further year to get used to the pace of the senior game. He saw two loan spells at Waterford but came back briefly to the Hoops and scored in the 6-1 win against Longford Town in the quarter final of the League Cup. Age: 19.
