NEC fans maintain links with DAFC
Author: Jason Barber Date: Tuesday, 8th Apr 2003The NEC Nijmegen fans have been to Dunfermline before and will hopefully be coming again as they maintain their link with their former manager, Jimmy Calderwood.
The lads were given tickets by John Yorkston and invited to Legends bar before and after the match, where they had their photographs taken with the main man, Jimmy Calderwood. Some of the conversations that took place were a little tricky to follow, seeing as they were in fast paced Dutch, but thankfully their English was 100 times better than our Dutch.
Calderwood had arranged accomodation for the lads during their whistle stop tour of Dunfermline and they were given a quick tour of the "hot spots" in the city centre at night by a group of Pars fans. Any female who came within shouting distance of "Bammel" will not forget him in a while....
A quick visit to the East Port Bar, where the NEC scarf proudly hangs from the ceiling, saw them go through the town and end up in the Ballroom. The bouncers were made to look rather small in comparison.
Thanks to the guys for their continued support of DAFC, hopefully another good night will follow the match between our clubs in July, during the pre-season tour of Holland.
