Your club needs You !
Author: Stephen Taylor Date: Thursday, 25th Sep 2003Chairman John Yorkston and Jim Leishman were involved in a question and answer session at the DASC AGM.
The much delayed AGM of the official Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club took place in the Kingdom Suite at East End Park tonight. Top table guests for the evening were John Yorkston and Jim Leishman.
Jim Leishman outlined the plans for the Legends ReUnited Day on 2 November with the 1985/86 squad making a comeback at East End Park. Tickets are going very quickly and the club are hoping for over 600 fans to turn up for the action packed afternoon. Jim went on to outline his main goals in his new job and there is no doubting his passion and love for the club which is infectious. Although still at a tentative planning stage Jim noted some thoughts he has on perhaps planning a similar Legends Re-United event for the teams from the 1960`s sometime in 2004.
Unfortunately, the AGM was not well attended perhaps reflecting the way supporters organisations including travel clubs and even the Centenary Club have lost members in recent years. Jim Leishman has accepted an invitation from the DASC to be its Honorary Chairman. Hopefully, with his help the DASC membership can be increased. The club organises a bus (it was not so long ago it was 5 or 6 buses a game!) to all away matches and it is hoped there will be a series of social and fund raising events throughout the season.
To do all this the club needs new members so why not pop into the Supporters Club office/shop at the west end of the Main Stand before or after the Partick Thistle game and pick up a membership form.
