Dunfermline Athletic girls football.
Author: Neil Farrell Date: Saturday, 22nd Nov 2003The Dunfermline Athletic girls teams were set up eight years ago to provide competitive games, facilities and training for girls with an interest in playing the beautiful game.
The girls play their home games at Vida (Pitrevie playing fields).
Dunfermline Athletic girls are currently looking for girls of all ages years up to 16 years to bolster the three squads.
In particular, the U-17`s are needing older girls to improve the squad.
A lot of younger girls are having to play in that team and are finding it hard to compete against girls a good few years older than themselves.
The U-13`s had to withdraw from their league due to insufficient numbers to the playing squad and also the expense of having to play their "home" games at Perth.
Both the U-15`s and U-17`s compete in the Angus girls Football League which is affiliated to the S.W.F. (Scottish Womens football).
In charge of the U-15`s is Stewart Ritchie, you can get in touch with him on 739999.
His assistant is Chris Woodall and he can be contacted on 739446.
For the U-17`s there is Billy Finlaywho you can get in touch with him on 720231.
The indoor (winter) training will commence this week and is held at the Tryst Centre, Abbeyview for the U-13`s.
For the U-17`s their winter training will be held at Woodmill High School Community Centre sports hall.
The U-15`s can attend either or both training sessions.
If you are interested in playing for any of the above squads then don`t hesitate to contact the relevant coach for that age group.
