Two Chris Smith presents gift St Johnstone an easy win with the Pars now looking to be in real trouble after this 3-0 defeat. This was a game the Pars really could have done with winning, but after Smith punched the ball into his own net the stricken keeper couldn’t keep hold of a Heber shot in the second half and allowed Sandaza to score a second. Craig’s third rubbed salt in the wounds of a dispirited and dejected Dunfermline.

Any hopes the Pars had of climbing off the bottom of the lead were as good as over in 3 minutes when they gift-wrapped a goal for Elliott. Keddie missed a glorious opportunity to equalise before the Pars conceded another soft goal. A good third, a Skacel header with the last kick(!) of the game and an injury to Gallacher add up to a bad day all round.

For the second time in a fortnight, the Pars manage to make a game of it in Glasgow against one half of the Old Firm. Trailing to a Keddie own-goal and a soft Jelavic penalty, Cardle pulled one back, and although the Pars rarely threatened, in the end Rangers were content to see the game out.
